Promoting Curaçao and welcoming South American travelers to our island.
We are proud to share that Diana and Martin Terstall, owners of Hibiscus Beach House and managers of Villa Colibri and Hilltop 8 Boca Gentil, took part in the FIT International Tourism Fair in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Together with the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and several local tourism partners, we stood for Curaçao at one of the largest and most influential travel exhibitions in South America.
Promoting Curaçao in South America
FIT (Feria Internacional de Turismo) is one of the most important tourism events in South America. Every year, approximately 140,000 visitors attend the exhibition, including around 40,000 travel professionals from Argentina and neighboring countries.
For Curaçao, FIT offers an excellent opportunity to strengthen its position as a Caribbean destination while building valuable relationships with travel agents, tour operators and tourism professionals throughout the region.
For us, it was also a unique opportunity to introduce our accommodation and our personal approach to hospitality to a new international market.
Four Inspiring Days
The exhibition lasted four days and was divided into two sections.
The first two days welcomed consumers and travel advisors looking for inspiration for future holidays.
The final two days were reserved exclusively for tourism professionals. These business days focused on networking, commercial meetings and developing new partnerships within the travel industry.
Curaçao Attracted Great Interest
The colorful Curaçao stand at once captured visitors’ attention. Images of the famous Queen Emma Bridge, the historic Handelskade, clear waters and beautiful beaches gave visitors an excellent first impression of everything our island has to offer.
Many visitors wanted to learn more about:
- The best time to visit Curaçao.
- Our beautiful beaches
- Accommodation options
- Excursions and activities
- Local culture
- Safety
- Flight connections from South America
It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm for Curaçao as a vacation destination.
Our Accommodations for Every Type of Traveler
During FIT we proudly presented three unique accommodations, allowing us to welcome diverse types of guests.
Hibiscus Beach House
Our adult-only boutique hotel in Jan Thiel is perfect for couples and travelers looking for peace, comfort, and personalized hospitality. Guests enjoy a tropical garden, swimming pool, and a prime location just a few minutes’ walk from Jan Thiel Beach.
Villa Colibri
Villa Colibri is a spacious private villa designed for families and groups of friends seeking privacy, comfort, and a relaxing holiday together on Curaçao.
Hilltop 8 Boca Gentil
Hilltop 8 Boca Gentil is a luxurious apartment in one of Curaçao’s most exclusive locations, making it an excellent choice for families and larger groups looking for space, comfort, and stunning surroundings.
Together, these accommodations allow us to offer the perfect stay for couples, families, and groups alike, making us an attractive partner for travel agencies and tour operators serving a wide range of travelers.
Building Valuable Business Relationships
During the exhibition, the Curaçao delegation held strategic meetings with several wholesalers and tour operators, including Aero, Travel Services, Ola and Almundo.
For example, these conversations included discussing Curaçao as a destination for South American travelers, presenting our accommodations to potential partners, and exploring how wholesalers and tour operators could include Curaçao in their travel programs.
We also met with online travel platforms such as Booking.com.
These meetings were extremely valuable, providing opportunities to show new partnerships while gaining greater insight into the preferences of South American travelers.
Media Exposure
In addition to meeting travel professionals, Curaçao also received considerable media attention.
Representatives of the Curaçao delegation gave interviews to respected travel publications, including Ladevi, Diario de Turismo and Rumbo Trade. Regional media outlets such as Telefe Neuquén and La Terraza de Rosario also highlighted Curaçao as an attractive Caribbean destination.
This media exposure helps increase Curaçao’s visibility throughout South America.
Working Together to Promote Curaçao
Several Curaçao tourism partners joined forces during FIT to highlight the diversity of the island’s tourism industry.
Participating companies included:
- Hibiscus Beach House
- Rumba Tours
- Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort
- Fiesta Tours
- Hyatt Inclusive Collection
- Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort
- Avila Beach Hotel
- Kunuku Aqua Resort
Together we showed that Curaçao offers something for every traveler, from luxury resorts and boutique hotels to private villas and exclusive apartments.
A Valuable Investment in the Future
Participating in FIT was much more than simply promoting our accommodation. It was an investment in the future of our business and of Curaçao as a destination.
We met inspiring people, set up valuable business relationships, and gained a deeper understanding of the growing South American travel market.
We strongly believe that personal relationships are the foundation of successful tourism partnerships. By meeting travel professionals face-to-face, we create lasting connections that help our guests as well.
We hope the relationships set up during FIT will lead to new collaborations and welcome even more visitors from Argentina and other South American countries to discover the beauty of Curaçao.
We look back on this experience with immense pride and would like to thank the Curaçao Tourist Board and all participating partners for their excellent cooperation.
We look forward to welcoming you to Curaçao soon!
